Dating back to 15th century Italy,
the Tarot of Marseille is one of the oldest known and widely distributed tarot deck designs in history.
Its symbolism has been so strong that it has remained one of the top three Tarot methods
that current decks are modeled after along with the Rider and Thoth systems.
The pip cards in Le Tarot de Marseille are represented
by their suits only; coins, cups, wands and swords without any additional symbolism.
